IICRC Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT)
The UFT certification course provides technicians with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to clean and maintain a wide variety of upholstery, drapery, and fabric furnishings. Participants learn fibre identification, cleaning chemistry, fabric construction, cleaning methods (wet and dry), and how to safely clean delicate or problem textiles without causing damage.
This course covers:
Fabric and fibre identification (natural, synthetic, and blends)
Upholstery construction and manufacturing methods
Cleaning chemistry, pH, and chemical compatibility
Dry soil removal, wet cleaning, and low-moisture techniques
Specialty spot and stain removal
Deodorization and protection treatments
Safety, customer communication, and warranty considerations
Certification Outcome
Upon passing the IICRC examination, participants are certified as Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technicians (UFT), demonstrating professional competency in upholstery and textile care.
