Course Description
This course provides a practical introduction to residential Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) investigation, covering the relationship between moisture, mould, particulate matter, TVOCs and chemical contaminants. Participants will learn how ventilation, filtration, pressure differentials and airflow pathways influence IAQ, and how to use investigation tools including differential pressure sensors, airflow measurements, smoke/tracer methods and tracer gas techniques. The course focuses on developing a structured investigation process – from occupant interviews and building observations through to measurements, source identification, hypothesis development and reporting – helping participants understand when further investigation or specialist referral is required.
This course is ideal for professionals involved in building assessment, restoration, mould remediation, indoor air quality, cleaning, environmental investigation and building services.
